Key suspect in the murder of John Macris in custody

The key suspect in the murder of the 46-year-old Greek-Australian businessman John Macris, has been detained by police authorities in the suburb of Glyfada in Athens.

While an official statement hasn't been made, according to an inside source a 31-year-old Bulgarian national with Turkish roots and his accomplice were taken into custody over the assassination and for other offences. The Homicide Department have collected solid evidence, and are expected to be arrested soon.

The source also said that the alleged killer had been hiding in a safe house near Athens, before he was arrested in a hotel in Glyfada.

The businessman was murdered outside his home in Voula on October 31st, 2018, as he was walking towards his car to attend a launch of his new security business.
