According to sources, a 27-year-old farmer has been arrested for the murder of American biologist Suzanne Eaton, after confessing to her murder.

Police sources said that they believe the suspect had sexual motives and attacked Suzanne as she was walking back to the convention centre where she was staying.

‘He hit her with his car to stop her from running and then stabbed her,’ the source continued.

Suzanne Eaton’s body was found in an abandoned WWII bunker on July 8, nearly a week after she was last seen.

The suspect reportedly owns a plot of land near the old German bunker and knows the area well. He was arrested over the weekend after police also tracked his cell phone to the area and found his car tracks near the cave.

Homicide detectives from Athens travelled to Crete to head the investigation.

The arrest comes after police also interviewed 10 people in relation to the murder over the weekend. According to reports, they were all checked for possible scratches or bruises that would link them with the crime.
