Owner and resident DJ at one of the hottest open air beach clubs in Corfu, DJ Velix, knows how to create an unforgettable night through music.

Stelios, aka DJ Velix has always been interested in music for as long as he can remember, stating that he was always a very musical person from a young age, where he started playing the guitar and drums at the age of 12.

Listening to many songs as a DJ, he has come across many artists, however growing up and even to this day, his favourite performers are The pixies and Led Zeppelin.

It was at the age of 15/16, when DJ Velix started mixing and tuning songs, taking it to the next level and becoming more serious when he was 23-years-old.

Following his musical heart and mind, Velix also got accepted into the Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA.

His DJ name ’Velix’ Stelios notes came from a brainstorming session with his friends. “My name isn’t the most commercially attractive one, so I needed a nickname. I love the letters V and X so after a long conversation with friends we came up with Velix.”

His resume is impressive, having performed at Pixi nightclub in Athens, the biggest festival in Greece- Ejekt Festival, been the support act for Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and one of the resident DJs at the legendary Cavo Paradiso nightclub in Mykonos.

The young DJ is also proud to be Greek. “I was born in London but grew up in Greece; it was fun growing up in Greece. A very safe country at the time, no worries, and the sun the food; everything was great. Unfortunately things have changed a lot now, but I’m sure that soon the country will stand on its feet again. We have been in a deep economic crisis for over a decade and it’s been really hard. Greek food is insane… but I can’t even cook a toast sandwich haha. The beauty of this country is something any Greek can be proud of. I’ve travelled all over the world and there is absolutely no comparison.”

As a producer, Velix has released various original songs, unofficial remixes and produced the official 2017 anthem of the fashion music project ‘Madwalk’.

When on the decks, the talented DJ likes to play house, tribal house, progressive and electro house. His remixes flock attendees to the dance floor which is no wonder why he holds residency at Pazuzu Beach Club in Corfu. “The club is located in one of the prettiest beaches of Corfu. It was designed by a Greek architect based in New York, LOT architects, who was awarded one of the most talented upcoming architects by wallpaper magazine. Its magical that you play and party, and have the sunset right in front of you. It’s really magical. Playing at my club is like playing at home really. I honestly enjoy it more than any gig, and every year I catch myself being really excited as if it is the first time playing there. Our line-up is bigger this year and is going to have the best show we have ever had. We grow every year and it’s a great satisfaction to see it grow year by year.”

When asked what a highlight has been so far in his musical career, DJ Velix stated that it was his residency in Paradise Club in Mykonos. “I had the opportunity to play with the biggest names of the scene (Martin Garrix Tiesto, Don diablo , afrojack and many more), and my show in Ejekt festival along with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike in front of 15,000 people,” he continued.
