The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry announced that the Intellectual Property Office website on the 31st January 2020, published the re-registration of the “Halloumi” trademark, following an application submitted by the Ministry back in May 2018.

The re-registration of this trademark, which was lost in May 2018, is an important development, as it ensures the continued upward trend of exporting this traditional product to the United Kingdom, irrespective of any developments with Brexit.

It is precisely the aim of the Ministry of Commerce to register and protect the halloumi brand in all major countries, as well as in the EU.
