The Society of Kastorians “OMONOIA” New York, during the crisis created by the pandemic coronavirus, has dedicated its philanthropic work and solidarity not only to its members and Greek community, but also to the local organisations and community.
This began on Tuesday April 21, where the President Demos Siokis and the board of the association, delivered lunch to the medical staff of the ICU at Jacobi Medical Center.
The following day, they delivered food to firefighters of the FDNY Engine and on Thursday they offered hot meals to police officers at the NYPD 109th Precinct.
The association is also fundraising for the Hospital of Kastoria, which lacks medical supplies. You can support the fundraising by donating to the Association’s PayPal account.
$10,000 has already been raised and sent to the Hospital of Kastoria, for the purchase of protection gear and sterilisation equipment.
The Society of Kastorians “Omonoia” was founded in 1910 in New York, with the aim of preserving the culture and passing on traditions to the younger generations of Greeks living in New York.
