At the moment, you can’t go down to your favourite bar and order yourself a cocktail… but that doesn’t mean that you have to go thirsty while social distancing.
Multi-awarded Baba Au Rum in downtown Athens, the oldest modern cocktail bar in the country, announced its new delivery service- cocktails delivered straight to your doorstep.
The much-loved bar on Klitiou Street, was one of the World’s Best 50 Best Bars for 2019.
Until the lifting of restrictions for cafes, restaurants and bars which is expected to occur gradually next month, Baba Au Rum will handcraft concoctions delivered to your home.
The cocktails are transported in vacuum packages and come with the necessary garnishes and ice. From there, all you need are the glasses.
There are nine options to choose from, including two Negroni versions (one classic and one with rum), Cosmo Margarita, Bloody Mart, Mai Tai and Les fleurs du mal.
The cocktails do not need to be consumed immediately, they can be kept in the fridge for up to three days.
The response from the public was very positive. “We are overwhelmed by your kind reaction on our new take away/delivery option, thank you so much! We didn’t make plans for such a warm welcome…” Baba Au Rum posted on Facebook.
