The Turkish media are talking about Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s historic visit to the Occupied Territories today, covering the travel and every step of the Turkish president in the occupied Cypriot territories for the “anniversary of the establishment” of the pseudo-state.
Erdoğan arrived on the presidential plane “Istanbul” at 12.30 (Cyprus time) and was received with a solemn ceremony by the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, Ethnos reported.
After watching the military parade on Fazil Kucuk Avenue, Erdoğan inaugurated a 100-bed intensive care hospital in occupied Nicosia and then travel to the besieged city of Famagusta for the famous to meet with Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar.
Erdoğan’s coalition government fascist partner, Devlet Bahçeli, had arrived on another plane.
Meanwhile, in a post on twitter, the so-called Turkish Ministry of Defense, on the occasion of today’s “anniversary of the establishment” of the pseudo-state, sends a message to the Turkish Cypriots.
“Happy birthday to the anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which 37 years ago, determining its own destiny, declared its independence and freedom.
“Turkey, as in 1974, stood by its Turkish Cypriot brothers, so today it is governed by the same spirit of support towards the Turkish Cypriot.”

The post is accompanied by a video clip, prepared especially for the 37th “anniversary of the establishment” of the pseudo-state, with archive images from the events that took place 37 years ago (1983) during the proclamation of the illegal “state”.
Last Tuesday, hundreds of Turkish Cypriots protested against Ankara’s interventionist policies.
“No picnic to the detriment of others”, “No intervention”, “Freedom for all” and “In Cyprus, the Cypriots have a say”, shouted the protesters, in which leaders of the so-called “opposition” also took part.
The fenced former resort town of Famagusta was closed after the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974 and reopened last month by a decision of Ankara and the then-so-called “prime minister”, despite objections from the United Nations, the Republic of Cyprus and Greece.
By partially opening Varoshia, Erdoğan broke United Nations resolutions 550 (1984) and 789 (1992).
