Celebrating 20 years of operation, Athens International Airport (AIA) is offering 3D guided tours of its premises to students from Greece and abroad.

The guided tours are able to occur with the help of virtual tour technology, so no one misses out due to the covid-19 pandemic.

“Pupils from even in the remotest regions, will be able to enjoy the exciting experience of an airport tour via their mobile phone or tablet. The 3D virtual tour not only gives visitors the sense of actually being inside the airport areas, but also allows them to choose a route and direction, through VR masks and compatible technology,” AIA said in an announcement.

Young students are guided in the virtual tour (lasting 1 ½ – 2 hours) by AIA staff and mascot - Philos the Athenian.

Some of the areas they will have the opportunity to see include: inside the main terminal building, the baggage handling halls, the art & culture exhibition areas, the passenger boarding gates and the control tower.
