Greece confirms 1,381 new coronavirus infections on Wednesday, 23 deaths

Greece records highest daily number of Covid-19 infections

Greece confirmed 1,381 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, with one of these identified at entry points to the country, the National Public

Health Organisation (EODY) reported on Wednesday.
Greece has confirmed 405,542 infections from the start of the pandemic (daily change: +0.3 per cent). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 37 infections are related to travel from abroad and 1,863 to other confirmed cases. 
There are also 23 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of pandemic victims to 12,145. Of these, 95.2 per cent had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old.


A total of 486 patients are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 67 years, and 86.4 per cent have an underlying condition and are aged 70 or more. Another 2,462 have been discharged from ICU's since the pandemic began.


In addition, 198 Covid-19 patients were admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change of +14.45 per cent).

The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last seven days was 194.
The median age of new infections is 44 years, while the median age of the deceased is 78.
