Police arrest three Albanians and a Greek over attempted murder incident

Police have arrested three Albanians and a Greek and charged them over a bloody incident that took place last month in a café in Pefkohori according to police reports.

The three men of Albanian origin, 29, 34 and 21 years old had warrants issued for attempted murder after allegedly shooting a a 20-year-old man in the leg in the incident last month.

Along with the youngest defendant, a 24-year-old Greek defendant was also arrested on charges of fostering a criminal and possession of a firearm, as a pistol, a shotgun and 25 rounds of ammunition were found in his home.

The arrests came following investigations in the area of Halkidi where the first two were arrested yesterday in the area of Fourka in execution of the warrants, while the third, who has a criminal record, was arrested yesterday in Sozopol.

All men are in custody and expected to appear before a prosecutor today Monday 16 July.
