Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables 4 to begin filming in Greece

Screen Daily - Millennium Media has commenced production in London on the latest film in The Expendables franchise and announced it has sold most key territories and added new cast.

Principal photography began on Wednesday (September 29) and will continue to shoot at the company’s Nu Boyana Studios production facility in Bulgaria, and Greece.

Deals have closed in Latin America (California Filmes), Middle East (Eagle Films), South Korea (Joy n Cinema), CIS and Baltics (Top Film), Japan (Pony Canyon), India, Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia (MVP), Benelux (Dutch FilmWorks) and Eastern Europe (Vertical Entertainment).

Lionsgate holds rights for The Expendables in the US, Canada and UK.

Sheila Shah, Jacob Scipio and Levy Tran have joined returning cast of Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Sylvester Stallone alongside Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Andy Garcia and Tony Jaa.

Scott Waugh directs from a screenplay by Spenser Cohen with revisions by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly. Statham, Kevin King Templeton, and Les Weldon, Yariv Lerner, Jeffrey Greenstein, and Jonathan Yunger are producing.

Executive producers are Avi Lerner, Boaz Davidson and Trevor Short for Millennium with Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman on behalf of Campbell Grobman Films. Eda Kowan and Jonah Leach will oversee for Lionsgate.

The Expendables franchise has generated more than $800m worldwide from three films, of which more than $576m comes from the international arena.
