The Taliban are beheading dolls in shop windows in Afghanistan because they are similar to… pagan statues.
Videos from the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice show officials beheading dolls in Herat province in the west of the country, capturing the situation of Afghanistan under Taliban control.
This is Herat where the Taliban authorities have asked clothing shops to behead all “female mannequins” calling them “un-Islamic”. Herat was called “the pearl of Khurasan” by Rumi and has been considered the cultural capital of #Afghanistan. pic.twitter.com/CUBA6fSE74

The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, the ministry responsible for the implementation of Islamic law, asked the owners of women’s clothing stores to remove the heads from the dolls in their shop windows.
They warned those who disobey the order face serious punishment.
Despite the reactions of the shop owners, the “beheadings” in the shop windows continue normally, accompanied by occasional exclamations and shouts from the fanatical Islamists.
