Mykonos fish tavern shut for not providing receipts to tourists

Mykonos

A fish restaurant in Mykonos was sealed because it did not provide receipts to tourists, but the owner disagreed with the decision and took down the notification from the tax authorities.

According to Proto Thema, the sealing of the store in the Ano Mera area was imposed by a tax team from Syros, who carried out an on-site investigation after complaints that receipts were not being given to customers.

The owner of the restaurant reportedly disagreed, arguing the exact opposite and even took down the relevant poster stating the reasons that led the tax audit authorities to seal him.

In Greece it is compulsory for restaurants to provide receipts to customers.
