The last Oxi Day parade for Tassos in Mathraki – He’s moving to Tilos (PHOTOS)

Mathraki Oxi Day Tassos

The October 28 Oxi Day celebration was once again a lonely affair for Tasos, the only student in the isolated Ionian island of Mathraki. However, this will be for the last time as he and his mother will move to Tilos, another island, this time in the Aegean, but which is also home to just a few hundred people.

As Tasos’ mother complained, she herself was bullied by “upsiders”, as she described them.

“This is our last time in Mathraki , from next year we will be in Tilos. The conditions are not ideal. How should a child feel when there is bullying towards his mother? I have to take care of my child’s mental health. Unfortunately, while they generally embraced us, there were always the “upsides”. However, these “upside-downs” are in key positions,” she initially told MEGA.

According to her, “there were various things this year, I had asked for the obvious, for example that there be no gas bottles in the place where my child is studying, there were bad scenes that the little one experienced. We are going to Tilos, we had an invitation from the mayor of the island. Tilos has about 100 children, it has a primary school, a middle school and a high school.”

The young student himself said he was happy about this change, adding, however, that “there are some people I will wish for. I have 6-7 friends.”
