The Australian Open 2023 men’s and women’s singles draws are set. Here are the players Greek City Times are following

Nick Kyrgios is the top-ranked Australian in the men’s singles draw. The 26-year-old faces world No.98 Roman Safiullin in the opening round.

Thanasi Kokkinakis has been pitted against former world No.9 Fabio Fognini, who has made the Australian Open fourth round on four occasions.

Stefanos Tsitsipas will play Quentin Halys from France.

Maria Sakkari will face Chinese world number 119 Yue Yuan in round 1.

Greek Australian tennis star, Jaimee Fourlis, is set to compete at the Australian Open 2023 (AO) after she was awarded a main draw wildcard.

The 23-year-old Melbourne tennis player will compete in her home Grand Slam.

“I’m so thankful to Tennis Australia for the opportunity to play in the main draw of my home Slam,” Fourlis said.

She plays Linda Fruhvirtova in the first round from the Czech Republic.

Are Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis playing doubles at the Australian Open in 2023?

With doubles entry lists for Australian Open 2023 still to be released, it appears that Kyrgios and Kokkinakis will defend their Grand Slam title.

In an interview before the Adelaide International, Kokkinakis confirmed the 'Special K's' would compete in the men's doubles.

"We'll be playing at Aussie (Australian Open)," Kokkinakis told reporters.

"Doubles is a lot less taxing on the body and mentally it's a bit easier as well.
