Patras man fined €30,000 for dragging his chained dog with a car

A man who was arrested in Patras for allegedly abusing his dog after a complained filed by a local person.

As announced by the police, the defendant on Friday was driving a car, transporting a dog he owned by pulling it with a chain, which the man was holding and was tied to the animal's collar.

The police officers of the 1st department of Patras immediately located the accused and arrested him, while the dog, with injuries to its legs and jaw, was taken to a veterinarian so that its wounds could be treated, Proto Thema reported.

The arrested person was taken to the prosecutor of First Instance of Patras, while the police have issued an administrative fine of 30,000 euros to the accused.
