The 2022 European gold medalist, who came second in Melbourne, has reached the Paris Olympics qualifying time – the 3rd best time ever achieved in Australia
Antigoni Drisbioti made history this morning in Melbourne. The Greek European champion in the walking event achieved a pan-Hellenic record which automatically qualifies her for the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
In addition, today’s performance of Drisbioti is a new pan-Hellenic record.
Thus, after 19 years, the 38-year-old Greek “breaks” the pan-Hellenic record set by Athena Papagianni in 2004 (1:28′:58”).
Drisbioti is set to return to Greece on Wednesday to intensify her training and set her competitive goals ahead of the Budapest event.
