James Rodríguez, a Colombian attacking midfielder who played for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the past, has been let go by Olympiakos on Thursday.
This decision was made just after the club's loss in the Greek Cup on Wednesday. James, who scored five goals this season, joined Olympiakos last September. According to the club's statement, they have mutually agreed to terminate their collaboration with James.
The club expressed gratitude for his service and acknowledged that he will always be part of their team.
Currently, Olympiakos is six points behind joint league leaders Panathinaikos and AEK Athens. They also lost to AEK 4-2 on aggregate in the Greek Cup semifinals.
