Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks spent Easter night in church and the Oscar-winning actor’s wife wanted to wish everyone online a Happy Easter.
Posting various photos from the Resurrection, Wilson wished in addition to English and in the Greek language, writing: “Χριστός Ανέστη! Αληθως Ανέστη! Christ is Risen! Truly He is risen! Another beautiful Holy Week in Orthodoxy.”
The Greek passport handed to them by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Antiparos in 2020 is nothing more than the culmination of the passionate relationship that Tom Hanks and his wife have with Greece, its culture and the Orthodox faith.
Along with Wilson, who never forgets her Greek origins, Hanks, now baptised Orthodox and with Greek citizenship, often invokes his own memories and images from Greece – and not only those of his wife – declaring himself a lover of the country and of the Greek language.
