A 6 month-old baby was discovered dead in western Greece on Tuesday afternoon after the father allegedly forgot the infant in his parked car while he went to work.
Reports suggest that the 35-year-old father was supposed to drop off the baby girl at the nursery before heading to the local municipality office. However, he left her in the back seat of his car and forgot all about her.
When the mother went to pick up the baby, she was told that the infant wasn’t brought to the nursery. The father rushed to his car only to find the baby unconscious and with foam on her mouth.
He took her to the hospital immediately, but doctors were unable to save her. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of the baby’s death, and authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. The tragedy has shocked not only the local community but also the entire Greek society.
