Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will arrive in Athens on Friday, May 19, to celebrate a joyful event.
Patriarch Bartholomew will be in Athens for just two days and will depart for the Phanar on Sunday, May 21.
The reason for his visit is, among other things, to celebrate the wedding of the youngest son of the Theodoros and Gianna Angelopoulos family, Dimitrios, on Saturday, May 20.
Dimitris Angelopoulos will marry Leda Logothetis, daughter of businessman Vassilis Logothetis, with whom they met while both were studying at Athens College and then at the London School of Economics.
The Angelopoulos family are well-known benefactors of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, maintaining many years of friendly relations with the Ecumenical Patriarch, while Theodoros Angelopoulos has been proclaimed Grand Archon Logothetis of the Patriarchate.
