The Feast of the Holy Spirit at the Theological School of Halki

At the Holy Chapel, which is named after the Holy Trinity, of the Theological School of Halki, on Monday of the Holy Spirit, June 5, 2023, the festive Matins and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy took place, presided over by Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, president of the Ephorate of the Monastery of the Holy Trinity of Halki and also its Holy Theological School.

Metropolitan Irenaios of Myriophytos and Peristasis represented the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Also present for the divine services were Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra, treasurer of the Ephorate, The Abbot of the Holy Monastery of The Holy Trinity, Bishop Kassianos of Arabissos, a group of graduate students from the Theological School, under the leadership of the president of the Estia of Theologians of Halki, Archon Nicholas Xenakis, Emeritus Professor of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as several believers from the Princes’ Islands, Constantinople, and Greece.

A reception followed in the Great Synod Room of the School, during which the Holy Hierarchs and the faithful were addressed by the Abbot, referring both to the day’s celebration and the annual pilgrimage of the members of the Estia of Theologians of Halki as well as to the question of the reopening of the School. Then, a greeting was addressed by the President of the Estia of Theologians of Halki, Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, as well as the representative of the Ecumenical Patriarch, Metropolitan Irinaios of Myriophytos, who conveyed to all the venerable blessings of our Patriarch. Following this, a festive meal was offered to all by the Theological School of Halki.
