With digital and live presentations of modern Greek film production and investment incentives to attract international film producers to Greece, Greek cinema is shown this year at the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival, which started last Friday and ends on Sunday, June 18.

Following the initiative of the Embassy of Greece in China and with the support of the Consulate General of Shanghai, the Hellenic Film Center and EKOME are shown at the leading film event with digital booths as part of the festival's electronic exhibition.

"With the opening of China after the pandemic, there clearly seems to be an interest from Chinese companies in carrying out productions abroad and in partnership with foreign companies, possibly also Greek ones. Chinese cinema people will have the opportunity to learn about the important incentives for filming international productions in Greece. A large number of international productions have already been shot in our country, including Hollywood. In this context, we believe that our presence at the festival is a positive sign," stated the Ambassador of Greece to China, Dr. Evgenios Kalpyris.

EKOME will offer visitors information about the policy of attracting international audiovisual producers (cash rebate 40%, tax relief 30%, National Film Offices Network), the legal framework as well as a brief presentation of the productions that have been implemented from 2018 to date .

The Hellenic Film Center will provide useful facts and information about contemporary Greek productions such as Behind the Haystacks, Dignity, Listen and Black Stone.

Through an interface with the www.filmcommission.gr website, the Directorate for Attracting International Audiovisual Producers of the Hellenic Film Commission, Hellenic Film Commission, will provide the guide for the implementation of audio-visual and film shootings in Greece, the financial co-production programs of the Hellenic Film Commission, which include the Chinese-Greek co-productions.
