According to the latest forecasts from the National Observatory of Athens' Meteo weather service, Greece is expected to experience high temperatures for the next 10 days.
This is due to the persistence of warm air masses over the Eastern Mediterranean, which are expected to be 2 to 5 degrees Celsius warmer than usual for this time of year.
Temperatures will gradually increase over the coming days and remain high until the end of next week, with slight variations from day to day and across different parts of Greece.
Based on current data, Meteo predicts that temperatures will reach or even exceed 40C in certain areas of the country starting from Monday.
During the night, however, temperatures will drop to lows below 27-29C, except in urban centers where they will remain at those levels.
