Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, spent 24 hours in Karpathos and their journey continues! They arrived on Saturday evening, August 26, and are already exploring the cultural capital of the Dodecanese, the beautiful and renowned Olympos of Karpathos.
The famous actor arrived with his wife on two yachts, LIBRA and MARGARITA, yesterday afternoon and docked in the island's main port. They then took a walk and even took pictures with those who encountered them and engaged in conversation. Among the Carpathians who approached him were Skevos Kavouklis with his wife, Irini Deli, and Mina Pavlakos. Mr. Kavouklis informed him that there are many Greek-Americans on the island, including himself.
The hotelier-entrepreneur, Steve Kapetanakis, who provided and drove his new van to transport Tom Hanks, his wife Rita Wilson, and their friendly couple from Diafani to Olympos and return them to their boats, reported to the Karpathian News that the famous couple had studied, gathered information, and knew quite a lot about Karpathos, even though it was their first visit to the island.
