Separate incidents with migrants recorded off Zakynthos and Kythnos

A Egyptian-flagged freighter in coordination with the Unified Operation Center for Search and Rescue of the Shipping Ministry  rescued and collected 76 undocumented migrants that were on a sailboat 64 nautical miles southwest of the island of Zakynthos on Wednesday.

According to sources, the passengers of the sailboat will be transferred to a sea region south of the Peloponnese where Hellenic Coast Guard vessels will collect them and probably, take them to the port of Kalamata.

Meanwhile, a sailboat with 60 undocumented migrants, according to initial information, was located at a gulf northwest of Kythnos island.

Three coast guard vessels are rushing to the spot while at the site are already two private boats and a coast guard vehicle from land.
