Impressive but simultaneously terrifying is the image captured by a camera on Wednesday night while the second wave of storms was in progress in Attica from the Rainstorm Daniel.

The photo shows the storm cloud that brought one of the biggest storms in recent years to the capital, covering most of the basin.

On Wednesday night, lightning could be heard throughout the basin. Severe weather "hit" the capital for the second time after the heavy rain at noon caused unprecedented problems with traffic on the roads floods, while human lives were also at risk.

Accordingly, power outages occurred in some parts of Pagrati, Kallithea, Ano Petralona, ​​Maroussi and part of Psychiko as the severe weather conditions affected the substations of the electrical energy distribution system and caused frequent power outages and fluctuations in voltage due to the bad weather in the centre of Athens, on Asklipiou and Hippokratous Streets, in Vyrona and Pagrati.

Chaos in Attica at noon on Wednesday - Flooded roads, human lives were at risk

Unprecedented images were recorded in Athens, a pause from Syntagma Square due to the Rainstorm Daniel and specifically in Evangelismos when a torrent in Vasilissis Sofias swept away a woman!

As seen in the videos, people tried to stay standing in the middle of the street, with two women not succeeding. One tried to be saved by a man, while a signal pole finally caught the second.

At the same time, at the "Evangelismos" Metro station a few metres away, unprecedented scenes were recorded, with the station being flooded while the awning received large amounts of water from the adjacent road, resulting in a waterfall!

Accordingly, incredible images were also recorded in Monastiraki, where the station was flooded, while Pandrossou Street became a torrent.
