A serious incident that resulted in shootings took place at noon on Monday (18/09), shortly after 12:30, in front of the waterfall of the thermal spring of Thermopylae outside Lamia.

According to Lamia Report, an 80-year-old resident of a community in the Municipality of Kameni Vourla, was shot twice with a hunting rifle after a verbal incident with a Roma in the above area.

The two men had financial differences since the 80-year-old gave Roma two cans of oil, which the latter did not pay. When the old man saw him again, they allegedly argued, and in the tension that arose, he took the carbine from his farm and shot, bursting one of the tires of Roma's truck.

An alarm was sounded at the Police centre and an immediate order was given to mobilise the Stations of the Second Highway Traffic Department of Fthiotida, which are based next to the springs, and they immobilised the rural perpetrator within a few minutes.

At the same time, crews from the Immediate Action and the Lamia Security Sub-Directorate rushed to the scene.

The weapon was confiscated and the arrested person will be prosecuted.
