Greek Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis spoke with his counterparts of Iraq and Lebanon in separate meetings on Friday in New York, in the context of the 78th UN General Assembly meeting.
With the Foreign Affairs Minister of Iraq, Fuad Hussein, Gerapetritis "had a wide-range discussion on ways to broaden bilateral relations," while “ friendly relations between Greece and Iraq were reaffirmed”, posted the Greek ministry on X. Moreover, the “ importance of an interreligious dialogue initiative was stressed”, and the “ Greek FM reiterated Greece's commitment to working with Iraq aiming to achieve a peaceful and prosperous regional environment”, added the ministry.
Greece and Lebanon “ maintain traditionally very friendly relations”, the Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry posted on X about Gerapetritis’ meeting with the Foreign Affairs Minister of Lebanon, Abdallah Bou Habib. They discussed “ enhancing bilateral relations, regional developments, the migration and refugee issue, and EU-Lebanon relations", wrote the Greek ministry on X.
