An incredible case unfolded in a Greek hospital as a 13-year-old girl gave birth in the toilet, claiming she did not know she was pregnant. A doctor had examined her earlier without noticing the pregnancy.
According to Mega's Live News show, the incident occurred on Saturday when the child went to the hospital with unbearable stomach pains. There, she assured her mother that there was no sexual intercourse and then the pediatrician administered laxatives for tamponade.
The child then went to the toilet, gave birth, and has since been monitored by psychologists.
The president of the Pan Hellenic Federation of Public Hospital Workers (POEDIN), Michalis Giannakos, spoke to Nikos Evaggelatos and said that "at the hospital when she was asked by the pediatrician, the little girl and the mother said that she had no sexual relations."
"They gave her laxatives while the child gave birth to a healthy baby girl in the toilet bowl," he added.
"She would have understood something, but this is where the feeling of shame intervened, and I imagine that this child felt despair," he noted afterwards.
