The Security Forces Internal Affairs Service arrested a police officer for human trafficking and repeated rape.

The announcement:

The Internal Affairs Service of the Security Forces arrested in the afternoon on Saturday, September 30, 2023, a police officer for human trafficking and subsequent rape.

In particular, on the same day (30-09-2023), an extradited foreign woman voluntarily came to the above service and, in the presence of an expert-psychologist, testified that at least during the last two years, the police officer, using threats as well as psychological and physical violence, systematically assaulted and raping her, while he released her for a fee, withholding sums of money for himself.

In more detail, the police officer, taking advantage of his status, as well as the fact that he was performing duty in the same area where the complainant was active, initially approached her under the pretext of protecting her.

Then, in the context of their cohabitation, he demanded and extracted part of her money. In fact, to achieve his goal, he had promised to marry her to secure her permanent residence in Greece.

To end his illegal action, a police operation was organised, during which the policeman was arrested after he had previously received from the complainant the pre-marked amount of 500 euros.

From the subsequent investigation carried out in their home, in the presence of a judicial officer, a mobile phone device and the sum of 3,850 euros, of which 500 were the pre-marked banknotes, which the defendant had already placed in a specially configured hiding place, were found and confiscated within a space to which he had exclusive access.

With the charges filed against him, the arrested person was taken to the competent prosecuting authority and referred to an Investigator.
