Respecting Borders and Combating Terrorism: Prime Ministers of Greece and Estonia Emphasize Shared Values and Cooperation

He condemned the recent terrorist attack in Israel and stressed the need for a just solution in the region. Mitsotakis also highlighted the excellent bilateral relations between Greece and Estonia, emphasizing their shared values and principles in the EU and NATO.

Mitsotakis discussed the latest developments in Greek-Turkish relations and the Cyprus issue, stating that Turkey, as a candidate-country for EU membership, has an obligation to cultivate good neighborly relations. He also underlined the importance of the Alexandroupoli and Thessaloniki ports for trade with Ukraine. Furthermore, he stressed that migration policy is a top priority for the EU and must address its external aspects to ensure legal routes for migration.

Mitsotakis praised Estonia's significant progress in trade relations and digital technology transfers. He stated that Estonia's success in digitization serves as a model for Greece's own efforts in this area. He also mentioned that his discussions with Kallas covered broader regional developments, including the war in Ukraine and the Cyprus issue. Mitsotakis added that both Greece and Estonia steadfastly support Ukraine against the Russian invasion.
