Military sources have refuted the BBC’s claims that a Greek warship has been sent to the Israeli-Lebanese border.
According to state broadcaster ERT, the Defence General Staff and navy sources have clarified that there is indeed a vessel in the region, but it is part of the UN’s peacekeeping mission for Lebanon, known as UNIFIL.
The Defence General Staff had previously confirmed on Wednesday that a frigate named “Psara” had been deployed on a month-long NATO mission in the Eastern Mediterranean as scheduled.
