Antigoni Drisbioti, the Greek race walker, is heading to Melbourne, Victoria to prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympic games. Having learned from her experience last year, Drisbioti will focus on her training at the Melbourne training center and at the various camps she will attend during her stay.
Scheduled to depart on December 1, Drisbioti will stay in Australia until March 30, with a goal of maximizing her preparation. She will train with coach Brent Valance's group, which includes Gemina Montag, the silver medalist from the Budapest World Championships. Additionally, Drisbioti will have the opportunity to participate in other competitions during her time in Australia.
Her first major target for the year is the 20km event at the 2024 European Athletics Championships, set to take place on June 7. However, Drisbioti's ultimate aim is to qualify and compete in the 2024 Olympic Games held in Paris.
