World War II bomb found in Athens - Major road will close on Thursday

World War II

The Posidonos coastal avenue in Athens will be closed tomorrow, October 26, from 9:30am to 12pm, in both directions, to carry out a special operation by the Land Mine Clearance Battalion (TENX) for the destruction of a bomb from World War II.

The total stoppage of traffic will apply to both streams of Posidonos, from its junction with Vergoti Square to its link with Alimos Avenue, as well as on Evryalis Street in Glyfada, Proto Thema reported.

A parking ban will also be in effect on the same street from 9:00pm tonight, the 25th, until noon on the 26th.

Bus, KTEL and Tram routes are expected to be adjusted accordingly.

It is worth noting that TENX has been in the area for two days already, preparing for the bomb disposal operation, which will take place on Thursday.
