Struggle over the medical examiner's report on the circumstances of the death of 24-year-old Irene.

The cause of death of the 24-year-old woman found unconscious in the apartment she shared with her partner in Thessaloniki is expected to be determined through the results of a forensic examination.

The unfortunate individual, Irini, was discovered deceased around noon on Wednesday by her partner, who returned to their home and found her lying on the bathroom floor. According to preliminary assessments and his reported statement to the police, it is believed that the young woman was taking a shower with the water heater turned on and likely suffered an electric shock.

The 54-year-old partner had left the apartment briefly to purchase food for the cats the couple looked after. Upon returning just 20 minutes later, he found his partner had already passed away.

Residents of the apartment building reported hearing cries for help, and a female doctor who resides on the floor below rushed to the scene to assist. According to her account to protothema.gr, the unfortunate woman was found naked in the bathroom without a pulse. There were no visible injuries on her body, and despite the doctor's efforts to resuscitate her with CPR until the arrival of the emergency department, she could not be revived.

The Hellenic Police (EL.AS) forces have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death, and the woman's body has been sent for a forensic examination, which is expected to be completed today.
