Evros: Turkish man arrested for attempting to smuggle bullets and a knife

A Turkish citizen attempted to cross into Greek territory at the Border Crossing Point of Kastanea in Evros on Thursday night but was found to have an illegal weapon.

During the check carried out by police officers of the local station, 30 firearm bullets and a knife were found inside the vehicle, which belonged to the Turkish passenger and was confiscated, Proto Thema reported.

He was arrested and brought in for preliminary questioning at Orestiada Security, which is investigating his motives and filed a case against him for attempting to import weapons into Greek territory.
