Which Greek products are promoted in the Indian market?

The Ministry of Rural Development is making efforts to promote Greek products on the Indian market.

To this end, the responsible Minister Lefteris Avgenakis attended the opening of the leading exhibition of food and processing products "World Food India 2023" in New Delhi, which was held by the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

The aim of the exhibition is to provide opportunities for both investment and commercial development in the food processing sector to leading companies from around the world.

The visit of the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis to India is being carried out as a continuation of the agreements and discussions that took place in Athens during the visit of the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

During the day, he will meet with the Minister of Fisheries, Livestock and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala, where, among other things, the issue of developing cooperation in the field of fisheries and aquaculture and cattle breeding will be discussed.

Later today, he will meet Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. The issue of creating a Security and Origin Center for the import of Indian products to Europe and the Middle East will be on the discussion table.

The purpose of the Center will be, among other things, the certification of the safety and hygiene of Indian food imported into Greece and the EU.

Besides, a meeting will also be held with Food Processing Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras at the Bharat Mandapam, where issues of potential cooperation such as land improvement projects, product storage areas and cultivation of aromatic and medicinal plants will be discussed.
