Greek destinations are ranked above the European average in their evaluation by foreign visitors, with cultural experience and gastronomy receiving the highest rating. In terms of nationalities, the American tourists are the ones who say they are the most satisfied, while the Italians are the ones who rate our country more severely.

The data comes from the latest study by the Institute of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (INSETE), which, in the framework of monitoring tourist activity through diversified sources, collaborates with the company TCI Research (which is now a part of the company MMGY) regarding the collection of data for Greece and competing destinations (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia) so that it is possible to compare the overall picture of the country with the European competition.

Furthermore, the analysis is enriched with data for the 13 Regions of the country, which capture the tourist experience in terms of focus and attractions. In the analysis context, 220,000 comments have been evaluated for attractions, 138,000 for restaurants/bars in Greece and 7.7 million and 12.9 million, respectively, for competitive destinations.

A fairly satisfactory score is also recorded in the "quality-price" relationship, the so-called "value for money", with a score that in all Regions exceeds eight and often reaches or exceeds 9.

As far as sustainable travel is concerned, the overall picture of the country is positive (8.3), with most Regions having a score greater than eight and a maximum score (of 9.1) in Central Macedonia. The Cyclades (7.7) and Thessaly (6.9) score less than 8 in this dimension.
