Budapest: 100 Greeks trapped at the airport for 14 hours

Budapest

Around 100 Greeks who were going to travel from the Hungarian capital to Athens remained stranded at Budapest airport.

A passenger among those who have suffered for 14 hours in Budapest told SKAI radio that the flight was due to depart at 6:25 p.m. on Saturday, but as of this morning, it has not taken off.

As they were informed, the flight had been cancelled.

"They have left us hungry," he complained.

For her part, another Greek passenger tells Proto Thema:

"We are still at the airport and don't know when we will leave. They tell us about 13:40, probably, but people have yet to learn. As of yesterday, we were supposed to fly at 18:25. I also talked to the consulate here, but they couldn't help us," she said.

"A representative from Ryanair has yet to come to inform us. Yesterday, the police came to take us out of the gate where we were to get on another flight, and of course, people started shouting. In the end, we just left and wandered around the airport," she added.
