Attiki Odos is the road with the most installed speed cameras in Greece, and this is not surprising since - in theory, at least - it was built with the highest safety standards.
The number of speed cameras on the almost 70 kilometres of Attiki Odos exceeds 15, and even though they are not all functional, they are proving to be a deterrent to speeding.

Hefty fines
Drivers who exceeds the maximum speed limit by up to 20 km/h, an administrative fine of 40 euros is imposed; for over 20 km/h, 100 euros; and over 30 km/h, 350 euros, while the fine is accompanied by the withdrawal of the license driving for 60 days.
