A brutal episode of domestic violence unfolded in Crete when a 16-year-old boy beat his mother unconscious and then tried to suffocate his sister.
A 35-year-old woman from Romania appealed to the police, asking for her and her daughter's protection following a brutal beating from her son, according to Creta24.
The incident occurred yesterday in Heraklion at the house where the 35-year-old, her 16-year-old son and her 15-year-old daughter live, as well as the 16-year-old's stepfather and father of his underage sister. The latter was even absent from the house when the incident unfolded.
The mother said that in the past her son had shown violent behavior and even spoke about mental health issues he is dealing with.
Yesterday, when the incident happened, a neighbour came to the rescue, he entered the family's house and managed to protect the two women until the police arrived.
As the 35-year-old told the authorities, she fainted from the many blows she received on the face and body and when she came to, she saw her son trying to suffocate her minor daughter.
Another incident of domestic violence occupied the anti-domestic violence office of the A Police Department. A 30-year-old Greek woman complained that her 26-year-old partner had beaten her and even repeated it in the past.
She also handed over a small amount of hashish to the police saying it belonged to her boyfriend. The perpetrators of both incidents will be brought to justice today.
