Greek unemployment rate at 9.4% in November: ELSTAT

The downward trend of unemployment in the Mediterranean country continues.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 9.4% in November 2023, as announced by ELSTAT, compared to the upwardly revised 11.9% in November 2022 and the downwardly revised 9.4% in October 2023.

According to ELSTAT

- The employed amounted to 4,161,930 people, marking an increase of 12,025 people compared to November 2022 (0.3%) and a decrease of 87,722 people compared to October 2023 (-2.1%).

- The unemployed amounted to 429,806 people, marking a decrease of 130,997 people compared to November 2022 (-23.4%) and by 12,156 people compared to October 2023 (-2.8%).

- People under the age of 75 not in the labour force, or "people outside the labour force", i.e. people neither working nor looking for work, stood at 3,198,315, an increase of 91,820 people compared to November 2022 (3.0%) and by 97,602 people compared to October 2023 (3.1%).
