The acclaimed digital haute cuisine site FNL has announced its list of chefs of the year.
"The Chefs Power List" that FNL launched three years ago is an evaluative numbering of the hundred top chefs who were active in the last decade (2011-2020) in Greece and influenced in various ways the development and in the dissemination of domestic gastronomy. Since 2021, this list has been updated at the beginning of each year, being a barometer of the performance and influence of the chefs during the previous year, without, however, ignoring their overall contribution in previous years.
Mentioned in the article are the hundred most remarkable cooks and chef-owners who, among many of their colleagues, achieved high results last year in the restaurants they worked, while with their work and diverse personalities, they influenced a large part of the industry and the public to get involved in gastronomy.
The Chefs Power List is for individuals only and has absolutely nothing to do with, nor does it replace, the FNL Best Restaurant Awards. The criteria used to determine a chef's entry and position on The Chefs Power List 2024 are as follows:
1. Its contribution to the shaping or capturing of one or more important taste trends that characterised the year and the possibility of integrating their elements into the everyday life of consumers as something understandable, familiarising them with cuisines or culinary concepts previously uncharted for them and techniques.
2. The positive effect they have exerted on their colleagues by inspiring respect due to the work they presented and the response they had to the public so that they are creative or even a business example to follow.
3. The public has been interested in and excited about their culinary proposal.
4. Their ability to compose dishes with a depth of flavour, which at the same time can be characterised to a degree by creativity, originality, complexity and harmony, being the protagonists of a menu that as a whole is consistent in terms of the restaurant's identity.
5. They have made achievements in the restaurants they oversee with consistency and stability, imprinting his culinary stamp on the menu, but also their achievements in whatever they deals with in the field of gastronomy.
6. They have the ability to search for or even produce the best quality raw materials, and their contribution to highlighting great Greek products with such skill that they shine on their dishes.
7. They are popular either through television and social networks or through the appeal of the restaurant they work at.
