Filimonas was one of the most well-known designers in the field of fashion, with many famous personalities as his clients.

In recent years, he kept his life out of the public eye.

In an interview he gave last year to Espresso, the well-known fashion designer said: "I was wasteful. I loved, I was loved, I spent, I feasted, I had a great time, and now, thank God, I can live decently without burdening anyone at all. I can just live beautifully!'

The well-known designer was born in Heraklion, Crete, in 1932. He left his mark in the field of fashion with unique haute couture creations. He was the first in Greece to have the idea of replacing the models with well-known names of Athenian society in his shows, which were held mainly for charity purposes.

He was introduced internationally in 1972, with the presentation of his collection alongside models from Yves Saint Laurent and Mary Quade at the great "White Swans" gala in London.

He dressed many famous personalities, such as Sophia Loren, Jane Mansfield and Merle Oberon, while all the Greek stars of the time passed through the atelier he maintained for years in Kolonaki.
