The China Game
Greece entered the first break with a commanding 4-1 lead, but they weren’t done there. By the end of the third quarter, the score had ballooned to 10-1, thanks to contributions from several players.
Dimitrios Nikolaidis enjoyed a starring role at center forward, netting consecutive goals to kick off the scoring spree. His first was a powerful shot from the top, followed by a dazzling snap backhander to put Greece up 4-1. He wasn’t finished there, adding another goal later in the quarter with a clinical finish from point-blank range.
Stylianos Argyropoulos also got in on the action, putting the finishing touches on the dominant quarter with two well-placed shots from the top.
