A Greek-owned cargo ship that flies the flag of the Marshall Islands reported that it was the target of an attack with two missiles within 20 minutes off the Red Sea coast of Yemen, a British private maritime security company announced.

The missiles fell into the sea, the crew is safe and sound, and the vessel is heading to the port, which is its next stop, the company Ambrey said of the incident in the Red Sea.

Earlier, Britain's Maritime Safety Office (UKMTO) said it had received information about an incident in the Red Sea, about 40 nautical miles (74 km) south of the Yemeni city of Al Moha.

While Yemen's Houthis, who maintain an alignment with Iran, have escalated assaults, no immediate claim of responsibility has been asserted for this particular incident.

The waters surrounding Yemen have become a focal point for regional tensions, with attacks on ships by Houthis and other groups posing a significant threat to shipping lanes in this strategically vital region.

In response to the aggression from the terrorist group, the United States and Britain have conducted airstrikes across Yemen.
