The Greek National Tourism Organization's (GNTO) booth received the "Best Decoration Award" at an international tourism fair that took place in Mumbai February 8-10.

Following a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic, GNTO's participation in the Outbound Travel Market (OTM 2024) highlighted Greece's commitment to a robust comeback in the global tourism arena.

The agency emphasised the country's rich cultural heritage, its unique destinations, and the diverse array of tourist experiences Greece can offer to travellers from around the world, with a special focus on the emerging market of India.

Throughout exhibition numerous meetings were held with tourism and travel agencies, all of whom displayed keen interest in Greece, especially in wedding planning, and film productions, including collaboration with Indian influencers.

The importance of expediting visa issuance and facilitating direct air connections between the two countries was underscored during these meetings.

GNTO has targeted India as one of the key markets for tourism expansion, while following high-level discussions between the prime ministers of both countries in August 2023, more concerted efforts have been made to bolster economic and tourism ties and foster cultural exchanges between Greece and India.

The "Best Decoration Award" was presented on the fair's last day and presented by the Tourism Minister of Rajastan Diya Kumari, who had paid a visit to the kiosk earlier with the fair's organisers.
