Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has confirmed his upcoming participation in a summer tournament following weeks of teasing his return.

After a long hiatus due to knee and wrist injuries, the former world No. 13 has signed up for the Ultimate Tennis Showdown in New York, which will take place before the US Open. Moreover, Kyrgios has set his sights on Wimbledon and the grass court season, potentially marking an even earlier comeback.

The 28-year-old's participation in the Ultimate Tennis Showdown, an unconventional exhibition tournament created by Patrick Mouratoglou, has been repeatedly postponed in the past. Having briefly appeared as a coach in Los Angeles last year,

Kyrgios will finally compete in the tournament in New York, alongside esteemed players such as Andrey Rublev, Gael Monfils, Alex de Minaur, and Casper Ruud. The event is scheduled to take place from August 22 to 23 at the Forest Hills Stadium, formerly known as the US Open's venue.
