The military parade for Greek Independence Day on March 25 in Athens was joyfully held. The massive military parade started shortly after 11:15, to the applause of thousands in the centre of Athens, and ended at about 12:45.

The military parade was preceded by the official raising of the Greek national flag on the Acropolis.

The doxology began at 10:00 in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, presided over by Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos II. The president of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, and the political and military leadership were also present.

In the March 25th parade in Syntagma Square in central Athens, Rafale, F-4 PHANTOM, M-346 also appeared, reported Proto Thema.

Rafale and F-16 Viper are Greece's most modern fighter jets, and they flew over Athens to commemorate the start of the Greek Revolution against the Ottoman Empire.

The first M-346 A/Fs were received in May 2023 to provide advanced and operational training, and at this moment, the first new Squadron Leaders are being trained in them.

At the same time, the first-anniversary flyover of the Supermarine Spitfire in formation with an F-16 aircraft took place during the military parade.

This iconic aircraft was rebuilt and returned to airworthy condition with the donation of the "IKAROS" Foundation and its Founder, Panagiotis Peter Livanou.

The Supermarine Spitfire, a symbol of the British Air Force, was used in World War II and was one of the most famous fighter aircraft of all time.

The first Greek Spitfires were received in late 1943 in the Middle East, initially equipping 335 Squadron and later 336 Squadron. In October 1944, after extensive action in North Africa, they returned to Greece.

They were used for training at the Aviation School and retired in 1953.
